CYF opportunities


Joy School Coordinator (2 year olds) Ages: Adults
Task: Coordinate parents to teach two-year-olds. Curriculum is set up. Help guide parents in leading the lessons.
Rainbow Bag Maintenance Ages: All
Task: Assist in keeping our rainbow bags neat and organized, adding new materials as needed.
Teachers (3yr-Kindergarten) Ages: Sr. High-Adult
Task: Team-teach kids with a pre-prepared lesson. Coordinate with 1-3 other leaders in the classroom.
Vacation Bible School Leaders Ages: Jr. High-Adult
Task: Help make VBS a success! Teach a rotation, shepherd kids from place to place, assist with food, set-up, clean-up, help organize volunteers, prepare curriculum, etc.

Administrative Help Ages: All
Task: Assist in putting mailings, curriculum, other packets together as needed throughout the year.
Lighthouse Keepers Ages: All
Task: Welcome everyone to Westwood. Help people find their way or materials they may need.
Pre-confirmation Teachers (Grade 6) Ages: Sr. High-Adult
Task: Help build relationships, team-teach weekly lesson, curriculum provided. Coordinate with other leaders.
Room Upkeep and Organizing Ages: All
Task: Assist with keeping our rooms welcoming.
Shepherds (Grades 1-5) Ages: Sr. High-Adult
Task: Build relationships, process lessons, direct group of 8 kids from place to place. Coordinate with other leaders.
Special Events Ages: All
Task: Assist with and host events as needed.
Substitute (3yr-Grade 6) Ages: Sr. High-Adults
Task: Fill in to teach, lead or shepherd kids.
Workshop Leaders (Grades 1-5) Ages: Sr. High-Adult
Task: Lead a rotation workshop with a group of about 10 kids. Options include: science, games, cinema, drama, computer, storytelling, art. Curriculum provided.

Confirmation Small Group Guides (Grades 7-9) Ages: Sr. High-Adult
Task: Help build relationships and process the large group lesson. Minimal preparation.
Mentor (Grade 9) Ages: Adult
Task: Help build relationships, share your faith journey and walk with 9th graders on their faith journey.
Sr. High Small Group Leader (Grades 9-12) Ages: Adults
Task: Help build relationships, share your faith journey and walk with youth on their faith journeys.

WECC Nurturing and Upkeep Opportunities Ages: All
Task: Read books, rock children and share music; safety and maintenance thru cleaning/painting classroom walls, storage areas and refinishing furniture.
