SOS: Sue Anderson

Stories of Service: Sue Anderson
Written by Pastor Nancy Carlson

Every time I turn around, I see Sue Anderson volunteering somewhere. She's on the Visitation Team and co-leads the Caring Response Team. She serves on the We Care Funeral server team and Loaves and Fishes. She prepares for communion, is a circle member and quilter and helps with the Holiday Fair. For the past 20 ½ years, she has put in over 7000 hours as a volunteer at Methodist hospital. She started volunteering after her son was in the hospital and she met a volunteer. Once she retired, she wanted to volunteer more so she started knitting hats for babies.

Sue said "I like to watch TV and if I didn't volunteer, I'd probably sit around and watch TV all day long!" She enjoys volunteering and said her mother did, too. As a hospital volunteer, she says God would often lead her to a room where a Westwood person was! She loves doing God's work and because people are so nice, she wants to do more. Sue said she's not an evangelist but she is the only Bible someone might ever read so hopes to show them God's love through her actions.

Sue adds "I couldn't do what I do if it weren't for my wonderful husband who is chief cook and bottle washer!"
Thank you, Sue, for all you do!
