Tryouts for Children's Musical-Oh, Jonah! Feb. 22, 26
Individual auditions are required for all speaking and singing parts. Each audition takes about 6 minutes: Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22, 5:30-6:30 PM and Sunday, Feb. 26, 10:15 AM-12 PM. To try-out for speaking parts: bring a short paragraph from a favorite story to read aloud (with expression) and get ready to learn a short scene from the musical, with simple movements (Spirit Stage room). To try-out for vocal solo or small ensemble: come prepared to sing a 1-minute song you know well (childhood song, hymn, folksong), match pitches and sing back a short phrase of a melody (Westwood Waters room). Camp Cakes 9:30 AM-12 PM
Our Bible campers will be hosting five pancake breakfasts to raise money to off-set the cost of camp. Please join us and help support their faith development! You can also plan to join us for breakfast on these additional dates: Mar. 25, Apr. 29, May 20, June 10.

Family Bowling Event, 2-5 PM
The Children's Ministry is hosting a family bowling event for youth (Grades 1-6) at Texa-Tonka Lanes (Mtka. Blvd). Cost of $8 includes two hours of unlimited bowling, shoes and snacks. Contact Beth Wolslegel 952-767-5572.

Quilter’s gathering!
Come join the quilters in the Lakeside Room on Tuesday, Feb. 28 (9-3) and Wednesday, Feb. 29 (9-12) as we work on assembling quilts. We will do some work on a special project of making quilts for Holden Village as they celebrate 50 quilts for 50 years. We received a gift from the Velkommes Circle to aid us in this project. Stop by to see what we are doing. We break for coffee at about 10:30, and also for our bag lunches at noon. Spend as much time as you can. You will feel the warmth of the project and the group as we continue this ministry.
Joint Westwood/Redeemer Winter Men’s Retreat
It’s that time of year again gentlemen… Chi Rho Retreat Center outside of Annandale, MN. Following Westwood’s Lenten theme of “Making Sense of the Cross,” presenter Dr. Guillermo Hansen (of Luther Seminary) will focus on “the cross, identity, and discipleship.” In addition to worship and fellowship, the weekend will include outdoor activities, an abundance of food and possible ribbing from/towards the pastors. Cost is $85 for the weekend (Friday, Mar. 16, 5:30 PM to Sunday, Mar. 18, 1 PM). Please contact Pastor Jason 952-767-5575.

Get Ready for the Westwood and Redeemer Women’s Retreat!
It’s coming up on Apr. 20-22. Dr. Karoline Lewis, from Luther Seminary, will be with us to talk about how the women in the Bible dealt with the “isms” in their lives and what we can learn from them. The retreat begins on Friday at 7 PM with worship and a session with Dr. Karoline Lewis. On Saturday, there will be more interactive sessions with Dr. Lewis, along with time for conversation and free time to get to know other women. The retreat ends on Sunday morning with worship. The retreat will be held at Heartwood Conference Center and Retreat in Trego, WI. We’ll be staying in the Pine Village Duplexes. Each duplex has four bedrooms, 12 bunk beds, one queen bed, fireplace, large bathroom, kitchen and living room, and features a double bath with private dressing areas. Please bring your Bible, clothes, and swimsuit for hot tub, games, walking/hiking shoes, snacks. Bedding is provided, but please bring your own towels. The Dependable Strengths process was developed by Bernard Haldane in 1945 to help military personnel transition to civilian life. Today DSA is used internationally by colleges and universities, businesses and workforce development. This workshop, co-developed by the Center for Dependable Strengths and Luther Seminary for use in congregations, is a key to uncovering the pattern of strengths God has given you to fulfill your mission on earth. Westwood Moms Bible Study Groups—STEP donations
We are inviting all members of Westwood Congregation to donate to STEP this month. STEP gets matched dollars for poundage this month! We are collecting soups, canned fruit and bottles of fruit juices. The most requested soups are: chicken noodle, chili, vegetable beef and cream of chicken, and canned fruits: pears pineapple, peaches. Please give generously now, through March 18.
