WECC News Infants
Infant June 2013 News
The Infants are excited to see the warmer weather which means we are able to be outside to a greater degree. We have observed geese/ducks, dogs, lawn mowers, older children, leaves and branches swaying in the wind and birds. The children will only travel outside when they are 6 months or older. At that time, they need to bring sunscreen and hats to help protect their sensitive skin.
Please make sure each item is labeled with their first and last name.
Reminders:
WECC opens at 7am and closes at 5:45pm.
Please remember to sign your child in and out on our attendance sheet. This is how we account for your child in case of emergencies.
If you will be having a late start/drop off please call the office or leave a note for your child’s caregiver, this way we know when to expect your child at school.
Please call the office should your child become ill, stay home with a relative, or go on vacation. This helps us to notify others of any illness going around the room and plan staffing according to when children are absent.
Nutrition:
We are excited to be offering the children more fresh fruit options. In light of this, WECC has stopped ordering juice all together! We are currently rewriting our breakfast and snack menus for the infants. Please ask your child’s caregiver for an updated menu.
Also, many parents request we offer the children water throughout the day. We have a limited supply of cups and lids for our meals. If you would like to bring in a sippy cup from home labeled with your child’s name on it that would be most helpful in offering the water option.
New Playground!
The infants are overjoyed at the fact that we will now have a special area for play on the playground. This offers our older infants so many more opportunities to explore their world, socialize with others, and practice those developing motor skills. If you have any ideas or items you would like to donate to your play area please talk to your caregiver.
Sincerely,
Infant staff
