SOS: Joyce Kautz

Story of Service: Joyce Kautz
Written by Dan Ronning

The first day I started work at Westwood I walked into the office and was greeted by a lovely lady named Joyce Kautz. She immediately grabbed my hand and said, “We are so happy to have you here!” That started a wonderful relationship that has lasted for 16 years.

As Westwood’s receptionist for 20 years, Joyce earned the reputation as the “voice of Westwood.” She’s still the voice of Westwood when she volunteers in the office on Thursdays. Although she does so much more than answer the phones! Joyce is quite familiar with the ins and outs of such a busy place and helps in a variety of ways. She also enjoys connecting with you when you call.

A Westwood member for 50 years, Joyce has enjoyed serving on several teams and committees throughout the years. For ten years, she served on the Archive committee and has spent many years with the Quilters. She is currently active with the Caring Response Team, and is a member of Faith Circle.

So the next time you see Joyce Kautz, take her hand and let her know how happy we are to have her here!
